Your Requirements

25 Continuing Education Hours every  year, 7 hours in pharmacology.
Additionally,
If holding a naturopath acupuncture certification, must complete additional 15 hours of CE annually specific to acupuncture.

All 25 Continuing Education Hours may be completed Online. 

Additional Information

According to the Board of Complimentary Health Care Providers, no more than 15 hours may be in naturopathic and no more than 10 hours may be in any single topic.

Mission Statement
The Board of Complementary Health Care Providers was established to protect the public through the regulation of the practice of acupuncture and naturopathic medicine in Maine.

 

General Requirement
A licensee who holds a naturopathic acupuncture specialty certification shall complete an additional 15 hours of continuing education specific to that specialty during the preceding license term. The additional 15 hours must meet the approval criteria for acupuncture continuing education activities
2. Renewal.  A license to practice naturopathic medicine and a specialty certification must be renewed annually and be accompanied by the required renewal fee.

Continuing education.
A naturopathic doctor shall certify at time of license renewal to completion of 25 hours of continuing education during the preceding license year as set forth in this chapter. At least 7 of the 25 hours must be in pharmacology. To be eligible for credit, a continuing education activity must—
Directly relate to the knowledge or clinical practice of naturopathic medicine; and be either sponsored or presented by a pre-approved organization  or be specifically approved by the board upon request.

Additional Continuing Education for Holders of the Naturopathic Acupuncture Specialty Certification
A licensee who holds a naturopathic acupuncture specialty certification shall complete an additional 15 hours of continuing education specific to that specialty during the preceding license term. The additional 15 hours must meet the approval criteria for acupuncture continuing education activities.
